An opportunity has arisen within an organization focusing on access to justice and human rights that seeks the services of an office assistant.
The Legal Resources Foundation, local legal services NGO, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the post of Office Assistant based at its Bulawayo Office in the Matabeleland Province. The incumbent reports to the Administrative Assistant at the first level and the Senior Lawyer on the second level. He/she also reports to the rest of the staff members at the provincial office. The Office Assistant is responsible for the following: –
DUTIES
Driving Centre vehicles
Maintaining the vehicles in accordance with the policies of the organisation,
Serve court papers to the Court, Sheriff’s office, Messenger of court offices and other law firms,
Banking and payment of the Centre’s obligations,
Maintaining records for closed files,
Files all closed files chronologically, or any other approved system,
Cleaning and maintaining all the organisations assets, facilities and premises,
Performing messenger duties as assigned,
Performing library upkeep duties as assigned,
Maintaining the general ambience of the organisation’s gardens and buildings,
Ensuring that vehicles are well maintained and are properly registered,
Preparing teas and eats for meetings and workshops.
Any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Required Skills
A clean Class 2 or 4 Driver’s licence.
Defensive driving certificate.
Five (5) O Levels including English Language.
At least 5 years driving experience.
Excellent communication skills both oral and written English.
Fluent in Ndebele.
Functional Competencies:
Ability to work under minimal or no supervision
Knowledge of Bulawayo and Matabeleland provinces will be an added advantage.
