The University seeks to recruit applicants with the requisite qualifications, skills and experience for the following posts in the Information and Communication Technology Services Department:
Qualifications :
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electronic Engineering or Information Technology or accredited equivalent qualification from a recognised University or institution and at least 2 years of post-qualification experience. Candidates must possess a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA) or CompTIA A+ or CompTIA Server+.
Responsibilities :
Duties and responsibilities will include the following:
- Install network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Monitor network performance to ensure smooth operations and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Provide technical support to users experiencing network issues.
- Diagnose and resolve network connectivity problems, including wired and wireless networks.
- Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.
- Install and configure computer hardware components, such as CPUs, memory modules, hard drives, and peripheral devices.
- Install servers, workstations, and other IT equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance on hardware systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and repair hardware issues, replacing faulty components as needed.
- Conduct hardware upgrades to improve system performance or extend the life of equipment.
- Provide technical support to users experiencing hardware issues.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware malfunctions and failures.
- Assist with the setup and configuration of new equipment for users.
