RESEARCH AND INNOVATION DIVISION
POST: MONITORING AND EVALUATION OFFICER (M&E) (1 POST)
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor’s degree.
- A master’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation.
- Competence with data, passion for social change, and strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills to support M&E activities,
- Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in an M&E position responsible for implementing M&E activities in development projects.
- Experience in designing, implementing, and operating project M&E systems from project initiation to closeout stages.
- Experience in strategic planning and performance measurement, including indicator selection, target setting, reporting, database management, and developing M&E and performance monitoring plans.
- Knowledge of the major evaluation methodologies (e.g. qualitative, quantitative, mixed-method, and impact) and data collection and analysis methodologies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Design and implement M&E frameworks: Develop and maintain M&E plans, frameworks, and tools to track research grants and innovation projects.
- Collect and analyse data: Gather, analyse, and interpret data on research grants and innovation projects, including metrics on outputs, outcomes, and impacts.
- Monitor project performance: Track project progress, identify areas for improvement, and provide recommendations for course correction so as to ensure their effectiveness and impact.
- Develop reports and briefs: Prepare progress reports, briefs, and other communication materials on research grants and innovation projects and initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders: Work with internal and external stakeholders, including researchers, innovators, policymakers, and funders, to ensure effective M&E practices.
- Develop and maintain M&E tools and methodologies: Stay up to date with best practices and new methodologies in M&E.
- Capacity building: Provide training and capacity-building support to research and innovation teams on M&E-related matters.
- Any other duties as may be assigned.
