Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Company (Pvt) Ltd (ZCDC), a World Class Diamond Producer for the long-term benefit of Zimbabwe, seeks applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and self-driven candidates to be considered for the following positions that have arisen in the business:
MINE PLANNING MANAGER
Reporting to the General Manager Operations, the job is based at the Mine in Chiadzwa and is responsible for optimising the use of available and future resources in mining and processing by providing effective strategic plans and block models using appropriate software.
Summary of Duties:
Defining and optimising the operational envelope for maximising business value throughout the life of mine.
Developing mine reserves and life-of-mine plans, engineering, and mine design as well as help develop exploration targets and reclamation plans.
Initiating business improvement plans to reduce costs and optimise resource utilization to ensure the efficient and effective running of the mine.
Ensuring financial project planning with the relevant personnel to ensure adequate financial planning and sound decision making.
Economic analysis of mining options and advising the business on decisions to take to minimise costs as well as advise on efficient cost management.
Providing required resources including mining software to the planning team for execution of duties.
Providing Geology and Survey with expertise for technical due diligence in the execution of their duties.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor of Science (Hons) Degree in Mining Engineering, Geoinformatics and Surveying or equivalent.
Post Graduate qualification such as MBA, MSc in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
At least five (5) years’ relevant experience in Mine Planning.
Previous experience within a diamond mining environment is an added advantage.
Sound open pit mining experience.
Membership to a professional body such as ZIE or SAIMM.
Strong IS & T skills, including Surpac Geovia, Vulcan, Whittle and MS Office package.
Sound knowledge of financial evaluation techniques and SHEQ Management Systems.
