HOSPITAL, MATIBI MISSION HOSPITAL, AND MASVINGO PROVINCIAL HOSPITAL
MASVINGO PROVINCE
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced members who are eligible for promotion to the above mentioned vacant posts in terms of the Appointment, Performance Advancement, Regrading, Transfer, Promotion and Training Procedures for Registered General Nurses in the Health Service.
REPORTS TO: Matron II /Senior Nursing Officer 11
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Formulates and evaluates nursing care plans
2. Assists in formulating and evaluating hospital policy relating to nursing and administration for the hospital
3. Supervises Matron 111 and all other grades of nursing staff to ensure a high standard of nursing care
4. Gives orientation to new nursing staff on general administration of the hospital
5. Identifies training needs for Sisters in Charge and recommends
6. Implements and evaluates continuing education programmes for the staff.
7. Conducts staff performance appraisals
8. Counsels staff with work related and social problems
9. Participates in training student nurses and post registration students on secondment to the hospital.
10. Participates in recruitment and selection of staff and student nurses
11. Identifies manpower needs well as other resource needs
12. Make budget estimates for resources
13. Recommends leave for nursing staff
14. Analyses and interprets statistics on staffing levels, bed occupancy, workload, morbidity, quarterly and annual
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Degree/Diploma in General Nursing
2. Degree/Diploma in Nursing Administration
3. Any other post Basic qualification would be an added advantage.
4. Applicants should be registered with the Nurses Council of Zimbabwe and in possession of a valid practising certificate.
