Job Description
The Marketing Consultant will support the development, execution, and communication of Group Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. This role contributes to aligning Old Mutual’s brand purpose with impactful community initiatives and sustainable development goals. Working under the direction of senior marketing or CSR leadership, the Marketing Consultant helps ensure that CSR activities meaningfully support brand value and stakeholder engagement across the Group.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Support and Program Execution

  • Assists in the planning and coordination of CSR initiatives in line with the Group Marketing strategy and Old Mutual’s broader business and social impact goals.
  • Contributes to the identification and implementation of CSR opportunities that reinforce brand relevance and social responsibility.

Brand and Marketing Collaboration

  • Works with marketing teams to integrate CSR initiatives into broader campaigns and communication efforts, ensuring a cohesive brand message around sustainability and social impact.

Project Coordination and Impact Tracking

  • Coordinates the delivery of CSR projects, applying sound project management tools and supporting Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) activities to assess effectiveness and community benefit.

Event Support and Engagement

  • Assists in organizing community outreach events, stakeholder engagement forums, and employee volunteer initiatives that reflect Old Mutual’s CSR commitments.

Stakeholder Liaison

  • Supports the building and maintenance of positive working relationships with NGOs, corporate partners, and community organizations to facilitate collaborative CSR efforts.

Content Support and Communication

  • Drafts, edits, and compiles content for reports, digital platforms, and internal communications to highlight CSR activities and their impact.

Monitoring, Reporting and ESG Alignment

  • Tracks and consolidates CSR activity data for reporting purposes, ensuring alignment with Old Mutual’s sustainability framework and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Qualifications And Experience

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years’ experience supporting CSR, marketing communications, or community programs, preferably in a large corporate or financial services environment.
  • Strong writing, content development, and digital marketing support skills.
  • Exposure to project coordination, budgeting, and team collaboration.
  • Familiarity with ESG frameworks and sustainability principles.
  • Certification or practical experience in Project Management and Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) for CSR or development initiatives is an advantage.
