Gonarezhou Conservation Trust’s Mananga Camps were purposefully designed in Gonarezhou
National Park as a celebration of local culture and creating a link between Gonarezhou National Park’s
Tourism, local culture, and our communities. The Mananga Camp Attendant position is a part of the
Tourism operations team in the Gonarezhou National Park and is responsible for the day-to-day
operations of a Mananga Camp in the Park. This is an important guest interface function that involves
attending to client needs, servicing rooms as well as conducting basic ongoing maintenance. This is an
opportunity which will allow empowerment of ladies which are from the local community, as they will
be involved in showcasing their prowess in the building and maintenance of Mananga Camps
according to local Xangani/Tsonga Culture.

DUTIES AND AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

• Maintaining administrative records and files at the camp.
• Assisting guests with check-in, check-out, and addressing any concerns or questions they may
have.
• Ensuring smooth camp operations by coordinating with other staff members and
departments.
• Handling guest relations and providing excellent customer service to enhance the guest
experience.
• Overseeing camp maintenance tasks and ensuring that facilities are clean, safe, and well
maintained.
• Performing other duties as needed to support the overall functioning of the camp and meet
the needs of guests and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL

• Proven experience in working in a camp.
• Knowledge of traditional building techniques.
• Strong working ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English (both written and oral).
• Presentability and diligence.
• A proven interest in tourism and conservation.
• Self-motivated and willingness to learn.
