Job Description
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Championing the risk management process in the University;
Conducting assessments to define and analyze possible risks in the University;
Evaluating the gravity of each risk by considering its consequences;
Auditing processes and procedures;
Developing risk management controls and systems;
Designing processes to eliminate or mitigate potential risks;
Creating contingency plans to manage crises;
Evaluating existing policies and procedures to find weaknesses;
Preparing reports and present recommendations;
Evaluating employees’ risk awareness and train them when necessary;
Liaising with individual Units in order to identify the challenges they face in the process of managing risks;
Implementation of integrity strategy;
Administering and overseeing institution’s ethics and compliance matters including promoting transparency and minimizing opportunities of corruption;
Preparing integrity reports biannually and will be tabled at the Audit and Risk Management Committee meeting before seeking approval from Council for onward submission to Zimbabwe Ant-Corruption Commission;
Facilitating stakeholder participation in the anti-corruption drive and promote good corporate governance;
Reporting to Audit and Risk Management Committee of Council;
Carrying out any other duties as assigned by the Vice Chancellor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Studies or Economics;
A professional qualification such as Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Association of Certified Chartered Accountants, (ACCA),Membership to such associations is a must;
A Master’s degree in the above field would be an added advantage;
A Degree, Diploma or certificate in Information Technology, Project Management, Legal Compliance and operations Management would be an added advantage;
Three (3) years post qualification experience.
