MANAGER, PROTOCOL
Reports to: The Vice Chancellor
Duties and Responsibilities
- Overseeing the planning, coordination and execution of high-profile university events, ceremonies and official
engagements. - Ensuring adherence to protocol guidelines during university
functions and maintaining diplomatic decorum. - Managing travel logistics, including visa arrangements,
accommodations and transport for university officials and
international guests. - Establishing and maintaining relationships with Government
offices, diplomatic representatives and key stakeholders. - Advising university leadership and staff on protocol matters,
including etiquette for formal engagements. - Facilitating collaborations with international institutions and
overseeing official signing ceremonies. - Monitoring developments in international protocol standards
to ensure best practices. - Supporting knowledge dissemination through workshops
on protocol, diplomatic procedures and event management. - Coordinating with other departments to ensure the
successful hosting of dignitaries and international
delegations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in International Relations/ Public
Administration/Political Science/ Communications/ Public
Relations or a related field. - A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in protocol management,
diplomatic engagements, or event coordination at a senior
level. - Strong understanding of protocol procedures, diplomatic
etiquette and international engagement strategies. - Experience coordinating high-prole events and managing
official engagements. - Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills with a
high level of professionalism. - Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining
attention to detail. - Proficiency in one or more foreign languages will be an
added advantage.
