MANAGER INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT) X1
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR – FINANCE, ADMINISTRATION AND HUMAN RESOURCES
STATION: HEAD OFFICE
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement ICT policy and best practice guides for the organisation.
Plan, organise, control and evaluate ICT and electronic data operations.
Manage ICT Hardware and Software systems as well as network infrastructure.
Plan and coordinate the acquisition of and maintenance of ICT equipment.
Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems.
Preserve ICT assets, information security and control strategies.
Work with other departments to ensure that technology systems are meeting the needs of the organisation.
Facilitate and supervise website management.
Design in-house ICT training for Commissioners and staff.
Run regular checks on data security and integrity.
Maintain a disaster recovery system.
Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions.
Consolidate monthly, quarterly and annual ICT departmental reports.
Appraise, supervise and offer advice to subordinates.
Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to technology services and equipment.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
● Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Computer Science/ Information Systems, Bachelor of Technology (Honours) degree in Information Technology and any relevant qualification from an accredited tertiary institution.
● A professional qualification from a recognised institution is necessary, i.e. CISCO, CISSP or any other professional course.
● A relevant Master’s degree is an added advantage.
● Proven three years’ working experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation.
● Excellent knowledge of technology management, information analysis and computer hardware and software systems.
● Expertise in data centre management and data governance.
● Knowledge of ERPs used in the public sector a priority.
● Must be a person of high integrity, professionalism, assertiveness and innovation.
● Excellent report writing, oral and written communication skills and excellent leadership skills.
● Proficient in Microsoft packages.
● A clean class four (4) driver’s licence.
