MANAGER, COMMUNICATIONS
Reports to: Director, International Affairs, Marketing and
Communication
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing the University’s public relations
and communicating the University’s position to media. - Develop and distribute press kits, including press releases,
fact sheets and other supporting materials to provide media
with accurate and up-to-date information about the
University. - Write and edit speeches, presentations and other
communication materials to ensure key messages are
conveyed effectively. - Manage media inquiries by responding promptly and
effectively to inquiries, providing accurate and timely
information and ensuring key personnel are prepared for
interviews and media appearances. - Track and analyse media coverage, providing insights and
Recommendations to inform future media relations
strategies and tactics. - Foster and maintain strategic institutional partnerships that
drive the University’s various initiatives. - Collaborate with stakeholders to plan and execute high-profile events, conferences and ceremonies that promote
the University’s brand and build relationships. - Mobilising partnerships with stakeholders including the
University’s Alumni Community to advance the University’s
agenda. - Identifying opportunities for collaborations with various
stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Communications or Marketing or
Public Relations or Media Studies or English or Journalism
or related field - A Master’s degree preferably in a related eld
- Minimum 3 years of directly-related professional work
experience and expertise in strategic communications and
marketing, crisis communications - Proficiency in Digital marketing
- Be flexible and a self-starter; able to manage multiple
concurrent projects while also being highly detail-oriented
with an attention to quality;
