The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) is an Independent Electoral Management Body established in terms of Section 238 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe. Its major function is to manage and conduct elections to the offices of the President, Parliament, Local Authorities, Referendums, and all related electoral processes in accordance with the laws of Zimbabwe and international best practices.
The Commission wishes to recruit professionals of high integrity with good communication and decision-making skills, and sound knowledge of electoral democracy to fill vacancies that have arisen in the institution. JOB TITLE: Loss Control Officer
REPORTS TO: Deputy Provincial Elections Officer
STATION: Mashonaland Central Province, Mashonaland East Province, Masvingo Province, Midlands Province, Matabeleland, South Province.
GRADE: 8/7
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Implementing the ZEC security strategy and policy;
Ensuring security of the Commission’s operations and processes;
Maintaining a Bio/CCTV/security system and produce reports;
Liaising with other law enforcement agencies on security matters;
Supervising and controlling all work and activities of security staff ;
Securing the Commission’s physical assets, offices, warehouses and personnel;
Upholding the Security Standing Orders and raise security awareness amongst staff;
Conducting investigations of theft, irregularities and other security breaches and produce reports;
Recommending mitigation strategies to the Chief Security Officer where necessary;
Drawing a security budget for the province;
Any other related duties as directed by superiors.
Qualifications/ Job Specifications
A minimum of an HND/ Degree in Security Management/Risk Management Social Science
At least 5 years experience in Security Service of which 2 must be at a supervisory level (Service in national law enforcement agencies is an added advantage)
Clean Class 4 Driver’s License
