Logistics and Supply Chain Associate || Namene Solar

Reporting to: Country Manager

Role Purpose
The Logistics and Supply Chain Associate will be responsible for all facets of internal logistics and procurement in support of Namene Solar Zimbabwe’s operations. Under the direction of the Country Manager they will work closely with the Regional Supply Chain Manager and Zimbabwe Operations Manager. The Logistics and Supply Chain Associate will also be responsible for all stock management for the Namene Solar Zimbabwe operations, including overseeing reconciliations for Namene Zimbabwe’s distribution partners for solar lights and other products that can be introduced to the market from time to time.

Responsibilities
Administration and Logistics Management
Organizing travel arrangements for local and international travel
Fleet management including fuel management, mileage tracking and planning vehicle service, insurance renewal, and any other form of maintenance.
Responsible for monitoring transportation of goods and employees, with a key focus on timeliness, efficiency and security.
Conduct regular checks on office-based assets, update the asset tracker, have new assets insured in a timely manner, and quarterly share a report on the status of the company assets indicating the current value of each asset.

Procurement and Supply Chain Management
Coordinate procurement processes ensuring they are in line with organisational policies and procedures
Request for quotations where applicable, prepare bid analysis and share for review and approval.
Assist in compiling vendors’ documentation for payments (Invoices, delivery notes, bid analysis, approvals, policies, and other supporting documents)
Manage inventory and account for usage and regular supplies of stationery, fuel, motor vehicles, etc and coordinate drivers’ activities.
Following and ensuring compliance with the company’s procurement policies and procedures.
Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts.
Receives and reviews delivery documents following receipt of deliveries
Manage importation and clearance of goods in liaison with the Supply Chain Manager

Stock and Inventory Management
Manage and report on all Namene stock and inventory.
Conduct stock reconciliations for Namene and its distribution partners in liaison with the operations and finance teams

International Shipping/Logistics
Optimize logistical procedures including ensuring import & export compliance in Zimbabwe
Monitor shipments, landed costs, timelines, transportation and storage
Liaise and negotiate with local customs agents on quotations & customs clearance for shipments to and from Zimbabwe
Address and resolve shipment and inventory issues including spare parts replenishment needs

Skills and Experience

Essential
To be successful, the role holder will need to have an entrepreneurial and curious mindset, with an energetic and self-driven approach to their work. Passionate and team-oriented, they will also require the following;

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Administration or a related field
Substantial proven work experience in procurement, logistics and supply chain
In-depth knowledge of procurement and logistics best practices
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to deliver presentations to a variety of audiences
Strong organisational skills, with close attention to detail
Ability to take the initiative and work with minimal supervision when required.
Proficiency in the MS Office package

Additional Skills / Experience
Good interpersonal skills and ability to handle confidential matters.
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Customer focused.
Professional procurement and logistics certifications are an added advantage
Valid Driver’s License
