We are looking for a Livestock Supervisor who will be responsible for overseeing the care and well-being of the farm’s livestock, including cattle and goats, while also managing and training the farm livestock team. This role involves practical tasks like feeding and pasture management, monitoring animal health, diagnosing illnesses, and implementing treatment plans. The supervisor will also be responsible for ensuring staff are performing their duties correctly, maintaining accurate records, and adhering to farm safety procedures.

General Responsibilities:
Supervising Livestock Care:
Ensuring the proper feeding, breeding, health, and overall welfare of the farm’s livestock.

Pasture Management:
Understanding and implementing grazing plans, ensuring good pasture management practices.
Health Monitoring and Treatment:
Monitoring animal health, identifying diseases, and administering necessary treatments or coordinating with veterinarians.

Staff Management and Training:
Supervising farm workers, delegating tasks, providing training, and ensuring staff are working efficiently and safely.

Record Keeping:
Maintaining accurate records of all livestock activities, including feeding, breeding, health, and production statistics.

Safety Compliance:
Enforcing farm safety procedures and ensuring the safety of both staff and animals.

Reporting:
Providing regular reports to management on livestock health, production, and any issues that arise.

Specific Tasks:

  • Feeding and Watering: Ensuring animals are fed the correct rations and have access to clean water.
  • Disease Prevention: Implementing vaccination programs and parasite control measures.
  • Record Keeping: Keeping detailed records of animal movements, health treatments, and production data.

Experience:
