Key Responsibilities:
- Providelegal counsel for women and girls in cases of gender-based violence, discrimination, and other legal issues.
- Oversee and manage a caseload, ensuring timely follow-up, appropriate legal interventions, and support for clients.
- Conduct workshops and community awareness sessions on legal rights, with a focus on empowering women and girls to access justice.
- Work closely with other departments within organisation to integrate legal services into the broader care model, ensuring clients receive comprehensive support.
- Contribute to the development of policies and advocacy strategies aimed at addressing systemic legal inequalities for women and girls.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all cases and activities, providing regular updates to the Executive Director.
- Provide training to staff and partners on legal frameworks impacting women and girls, including domestic and international human rights law.
- Plan, design and implement field activities based on implementation plans and budgets and ensure contribution of activities to project results as outlined in the results frameworks
- Design advocacy interventions, conduct and facilitate meetings, workshops, trainings based on the organisation’s approach
- Prepare and process activity plans and reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Mobilise stakeholders, beneficiaries and participants and organise the logistics for activities as outlined in activity plans;
- Provide and compile relevant project information for communications purposes and support media engagements;
- Support the writing of project reports for internal purposes as well as for funding partners and project stakeholders.
- Develop and implement social media strategies to enhance the organisation’s online presence and drive engagement
Qualifications & Skills:

- Law degree (LLB)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with focus on gender-related issues.
- Experience working with marginalized communities and understanding the specific challenges faced by women and girls.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work sensitively and effectively with diverse groups.
- Knowledge of Zimbabwean laws relating to women’s rights, gender-based violence, and legal frameworks.
- Ability to work independently, with initiative and in a collaborative team environment
- Knowledge and experience in local governance, youth and gender mainstreaming are an added advantage
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills and good writing and reporting skills
- Attention to detail, diligence and integrity and good team player
- Strong time management skills and ability to pro-actively set targets and self-organise work
- Clean Driver’s License
