The University seeks to recruit applicants with requisite qualifications, skills and experience
for the following post in the Faculty of The Built Environment: –

LECTURESHIP/SENIOR LECTURESHIP/ASSOCIATE PROFESSORSHIP (5 POSTS)
Department of Quantity Surveying

POST A: QUANTITY SURVEYING (4 POSTS)

Applicants must have at least an upper second class degree in Quantity Surveying. In
addition, the candidate should hold at least a Masters Degree or MPhil in Quantity Surveying,
Construction Project Management, Construction Management, Construction Economics,
Civil Engineering or Architecture. A PhD in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management,
Construction Economics and/ or registration with a professional body will be an added
advantage.

Successful candidates should be capable of teaching the following: – Construction Site
Management, Research Skills, Measurement, Contract Administration, Safety and Health,
Construction Economics, Construction Estimates and Pricing, Computer Application in
Quantity Surveying, Quantity Surveying Research Project, Construction Finance and Theory
and Practices of Quantity Surveying.

POST B: CIVIL/ STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING (1 POST)

Applicants must have at least an upper second class degree in Civil and Water Engineering or
Structural Engineering. In addition, the candidate should hold at least a Masters Degree or
MPhil in Construction Project Management, Construction Management or Civil Engineering
Discipline. A PhD in Construction Management, Civil Engineering and/ or registration with a
professional body will be an added advantage.
Successful candidates should be capable of teaching across a range of traditional and
contemporary subjects including the following: Site Surveying, Engineering Surveying and
Structural Design.

2. LECTURESHIP/SENIOR LECTURESHIP/ASSOCIATE PROFESSORSHIP (8 POSTS)
Department of Construction Management

POST A: CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT (3 POSTS)

Applicants must have at least an upper second class degree in Construction Management,
plus a Masters Degree or MPhil in Construction Management, or Construction Project
Management. A PhD in Construction Management, and/ or registration with a professional
body will be an added advantage. Successful candidates should be capable of teaching the
following: – Theory and Practices of Construction Management, Built Environment Sectors,
Site Management, Professional Practice and Procedure, Safety and Health, and Construction
Management Research Project.

POST B: CONSTRUCTION ECONOMICS (3 POSTS)
Applicants must have at least an upper second class degree in Quantity Surveying, plus a
Masters Degree or MPhil in Construction Economics, Quantity Surveying or Construction
Project Management. A PhD in Construction Economics and/ or registration with a
professional body will be an added advantage.
Successful candidates should be capable of teaching the following: – Construction
Economics, Research Skills, Construction Contract Administration, Construction
Technology, and Construction Project Finance.

POST C: CIVIL/STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING (1 POST)
Applicants must have at least an upper second class degree in Civil and Water Engineering or
Structural Engineering plus a Masters Degree or MPhil in Construction Project Management,
Construction Management or Civil Engineering Discipline. A PhD in Construction
Management, Civil Engineering and/ or registration with a professional body will be an
added advantage.
Successful candidates should be capable of teaching across a range of traditional and
contemporary subjects including the following: Site Surveying, Engineering
Surveying and Structural Design.

POST D: ARCHITECTURE (1 POST)
Candidates must have at least an upper second class degree in Architectural Studies plus a
Masters Degree or MPhil in Architecture, Construction Project Management, Construction
Management or Construction Economics. A PhD in Architecture, Construction Project
Management, Construction Management or Construction Economics, and/ or registration
with a professional body will be an added advantage.
Successful candidates should be capable of teaching the following: -. Construction Drawing,
Building Services, Construction Technology, Construction Materials.
