DEPARTMENT OF HORTICULTURE
LECTURER/ SENIOR LECTURER/ ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/ PROFESSOR
FLORICULTURE (1 POST)
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have at least a Master’s degree in Crop Science,
Horticulture, or related field. A Bachelors degree in a related field is a must.
An earned PhD degree in the same specialisation is an added advantage.
Landscape and design knowledge is an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching the following Modules on Floriculture: Pomology and Silviculture
and Hydroponics and Greenhouse Technology.
Supervising research by students under taught programmes and higher
degrees by research (MPhil/DPhil/PhD).
Providing community outreach and University services in the field of
Horticulture.
Conducting research that produce goods and services in the field of
Horticulture.
Contributing to Community Outreach, Innovation and Industrialisation in line
with Education 5.0 and the University Strategic Plan.
Participating in income generation projects.
Skills and attributes
University teaching experience, traceable record of research expertise and
industrial experience in the field of Horticulture.
Candidates should be results driven with good problem solving and critical
thinking skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve desired
outcomes.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
