The duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor and Professor are grouped into 5 main categories which are:
(a) Teaching – the incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and or Faculty guidelines and standards.
(b) University Service and Community engagement – the incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences and seminars, among others.
(c) Research – the incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.
(d) Innovations – leading to tangible products and services
(e) Industrialisation –through commercialisation of products
FACULTY OF EDUCATION
1.1 DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATIONS, PRIMARY EDUCATION AND PEDAGOGY
Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor – (Bulawayo Campus – 2 posts, Gweru Campus – 2 posts, Harare 1 post)
Qualifications
Diploma in Primary Education or its equivalent.
Bachelor of Education Degree in Early Childhood Development with at least 2.1 pass.
Master of Education Degree in Early Childhood Development and Child Protection with at least a merit.
Duties and responsibilities
The candidate must be capable of supervising students’ research work and should be able to teach at least three (3) of the following modules at undergraduate and post graduate levels.
Child Protection Conventions, Laws and Policies in ECD
Child Rights and Social Justice in ECD
Science, Technology, Mathematics and Innovation in ECD
Project Planning, Implementation and Evaluation in ECD
Curriculum Innovation and Industrialisation in ECD
Cross- Cultural Parenting Systems and Practices in ECD
