FACULTY OF NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT AND AGRICULTURE
3.1. Department of Animal Production and Health
Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/ Full Professor (1 Post)
Applicants must have a BSc (Hons) in Veterinary Science/Animal Health and an MSc in Veterinary Sciences/Animal Health/Animal Science or equivalent. Possession of a PhD in Veterinary Sciences/Animal Health/Animal Science will be an added advantage. Successful applicants must be able to teach a minimum of three of the following modules per semester: Parasitology, Animal Health and Welfare, Veterinary Diagnostics and Pharmacology, Veterinary Immunology, Veterinary Epidemiology and Public Health. Evidence of scholarly contribution is required in at least two (2) refereed journals. He/she is also expected to have strong research skills which will enhance and complement the department’s existing research strength.

Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Full Professor (1 Post)
Applicants must be holders of at least a Master of Science in Animal Science/or Animal Nutrition or equivalent and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Animal Science/or Animal Nutrition/or equivalent. Possession of PhD in Animal Science/or Animal Nutrition or related field will be an added advantage. The incumbent should be able to teach the following modules: Introduction to Biochemistry; Animal Nutrition; Animal Feed Production and Dairy Production. Evidence of scholarly contribution is required in at least two (2) refereed journals. He/she is also expected to have strong research skills which will enhance and complement the department’s existing research work. The candidate should have teaching experience at university level.
Lecturer/Associate Professor/Full Professor (1 Post)
Applicant must be a holder of at least Master of Science in Natural Resource Management or Rangeland management or equivalent and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Animal Science/or equivalent. Possession of PhD in Animal Science or related field will be an added advantage. The incumbent should be able to teach the following modules: Rangeland Ecology Management; Climate Smart Agriculture, Pasture and Forage Agronomy, Natural Resources Management. Evidence of scholarly contribution is required in at least two (2) refereed journals. He/she is also expected to have strong research skills which will enhance and complement the department’s existing research work. The candidate should have teaching experience at university level.
Duties and Responsibilities for Lecturer Posts
• Contribute significantly to the teaching, research, curriculum development, innovation and industrialisation activities.
• Participate in community outreach activities.
• Participate in income generating activities.
• Supervise student projects
Teaching Assistant (1 Post)
Qualifications
• Bachelor of Veterinary Science Degree
• The applicants must have passed and graduated in the last two (2) years.
• The applicants must be able to assist in teaching the following modules Animal Health and Welfare, Veterinary Diagnostic and Pharmacology, Veterinary Immunology, Veterinary Epidemiology and Public Health.
• The applicants should be 30 years and below.
Teaching Assistant (1 Post)
Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science (Hons) Degree in Animal Science/Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Animal Science and Health.
• The applicants must have at least a degree classification of 2.1 and should have graduated in the last two (2) years.
• The applicants should be 30 years and below.
Duties and Responsibilities of Teaching Assistants
• Assisting lecturers to offer tutorials to students.
• Marking of students’ tests and assignments.
• Assist in conducting practicals.
• Assist in teaching modules in the department and any other duty that may arise within the Department of Animal Production and Health and collaborating departments.
