Post B: Laboratory Technician
Qualifications and Experience
- BSc in Land and Water Resources Management or related field.
- A qualification in laboratory management is an added advantage.
- A minimum of two years of laboratory working experience.
Duties and responsibilities
- Planning and conducting land and water resources management related practicals for undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Assist staff and students in management of research sites
- Procurement of equipment and consumables for the Land and Water Resources Management Laboratory
- Ensuring that safety measures and checks are followed by students during practicals
- Organising and accompanying students during field visits and tours
- Maintaining and calibrating laboratory and field equipment
- Drafting of the department’s rolling budget in consultation with the Chairperson
- Maintenance of the Department commitment register
- Any other work assigned by the Chairperson of department
