LABORATORY SCIENTIST GRADUATE INTERNS (4 POSTS)
Africa University’s ZENTO project hereby invites applications for the position of Laboratory Scientist Graduate Interns. Working under the supervision of established Laboratory Scientists, the Interns will be responsible, among other things, for undertaking the following duties:
Desired Attributes: The prospective candidates should:
- Be recent graduates (2022 or later) in the following areas Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Biomedical Science, Forensic Science, Biotechnology, Applied Chemistry or other relevant field with at least 2.1 pass.
- Have good passes on the modules covered.
- Have high energy and committed to work.
- Demonstrate basic computer literacy skills.
- Have excellent communication skills (oral & written).
- Be able to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Be able to interact in a diverse cultural environment.
- Be willing to learn.
- Aged not more than 30 years.
- Previously have related laboratory science experience (An added advantage but not mandatory, as full training will be provided).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintaining standard operating procedures and protocols;
- Maintaining personnel and environmental safety;
- Morphological identification of mosquitoes;
- Performance of molecular and immune detection laboratory assays;
- Stock inventory and maintain laboratory supplies, consumables and reagents and;
- Produce weekly updates and monthly reports.
