Field of activity
The “Good Financial Governance” program commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) is intended to support Zimbabwe in its efforts to reform public finances. The capacities of the Ministry of Finance and other selected partner institutions in the areas of tax policy, preparation of the national budget and financial control are to be strengthened through technical advice and needs-based qualification measures.

Your tasks
Assistance in providing technical advice to the Ministry of Finance and other national institutions
Organization of training courses on priority topics of the Ministry of Finance and other national institutions
Support in advising on change and dialogue processes
Participation in the management of international and national short-term consultants
Writing articles and creating presentations and concepts
Supporting the project management in coordinating with donors in the area
Support of the project management in planning and reporting
Maintenance and further development of the monitoring and evaluation system as well as supervision of the impact measurement

Your profile
University degree in economics or a comparable course
Previous professional experience in the field of public finance would be an advantage
Practical consulting experience in a partner country of development cooperation abroad is an advantage
Diplomatic skills in dealing with partners at the national level
First experiences in the conception and support of change processes
Ability to think conceptually and formulate concepts and technical and political papers
Social and intercultural skills, frustration tolerance and interest in working in a politically demanding environment
Fluent German and English skills

In order to do justice to the special features of the assignment in a fragile location with a security situation, GIZ offers its employees targeted preparation and support as well as an attractive benefit system.
