LIBRARY DEPARTMENT
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bsc Computer Science
At least 1 year experience in programming, systems development or software development.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
In depth knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Up-to-date knowledge of new Information Technology systems, software, and hardware.
Hands on experience with diverse computer systems and networks.
Knowledge of programming languages
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A team player with customer-oriented approach
Good problem-solving skills
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate would be required among other things to: –
Assist in the developing and maintenance of all Library systems.
Provide technical support for the Koha Integrated Library System across all library units on campus.
Install and configure software components.
Install and upgrade antivirus software.
Troubleshoot software issues.
Support users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.
Keep records and logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule.
Assist and support students with IT related queries.
Provide guidance on potential new library systems and suggesting enhancements to existing systems.
Ensure that there is network connectivity on all library computers.
Assist the Systems Analyst in developing any required library systems.
