Purpose of the role
Supervising the purchasing, implementation, and maintenance of information technology resources for departments or Group.
Evaluate emerging technologies and systems to enhance technology services or replace failing resources.
Maintain security protocols and disaster recovery systems to mitigate breaches to the integrity of data resources within the Group. Communicate standards to staff and train employees regarding safe practices for the use of data and systems. Respond to requests for enhanced technology resources by departments, prioritize needs, and supervise projects to modify systems. Train staff to use software and other technology resources.

Supervisory Controls

Principal Accountabilities
· Conduct OS builds and supervise day to day activities according to business requirements, for new application setups and configurations.
· Routinely perform analysis during normal IT Infrastructure operation, including networks, firewalls, servers, operating systems, applications and devices.
· Respond to Help Desk requests to support troubleshooting of workstation and server related problems.
· Oversee monitoring of systems security, system logs regarding possible operational problems, security violations, and system performance issues.
· Performs other related work as required.
Education
IT related degree.
Professional qualification i.e. (MCSA,LPI, CCNP, CISM) will be an added advantage
Qualification by experience – only applicable if the incumbent has been in the same role for a minimum of 8 years.
Experience: 5 years in similar role.
