Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of a IT Service Desk Analyst based in Harare, reporting to the IT Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- First degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent.
- CCNA certified.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Information technology, Network Administration or similar environment.
- Knowledge of virtualisation platforms such as Microsoft and VMware. Knowledge of FortiGate and Sophos firewalls.

- Ability to train staff. Clear verbal and written communication.
- Ability to prepare accurate reports.
- Ability to plan and organise in line with job requirements.
- Ability to analyse and solve work related problems to achieve the correct outcomes.
- Ability to interact, negotiate (where applicable) and achieve targets.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides first level support to employees regarding ICT queries and problems and escalates these in line with SLA’s.
- Sets up new hardware and software for new users in line with Onboarding requirements.
- Checks and monitors data centre environmental conditions and advises IT Manager and service providers on anomalies.
- Reviews and updates user manuals and informs users regarding relevant technology.
- Configures, maintains and administers VoIP services, telephone devices, switches, routers, firewalls and VPN services in line with set performance standards.
- Analyses and recommends hardware upgrades and maintenance to the IT Manager.
- Monitors systems performance and uptime in line with set key performance targets.
- Participates in, and provides information for the definition of project scope and objectives in line with technical feasibility requirements.
- Identifies potential risks and bottlenecks in the relevant project and recommends mitigatory interventions for the projects.
- Implements business continuity and recovery processes as per the IT business continuity policies.
- Performs simulation sessions for data recovery.
