A local faith based Non-Governmental Organization involved in development, advocacy and humanitarian work seeks to fill in the position of Information Technology (IT) student intern.

Position Title: IT Intern

Purpose of the Position

The primary purpose of this IT internship is to provide the student with hands-on experience in the field of information technology while supporting the organisation’s IT operations.

Expected Deliverables:

  • Provide IT support to all departments, troubleshooting technical issues and ensuring smooth operation of IT systems
  • Develop and maintain web applications using frameworks such as Laravel 10 and WordPress.
  • Maintain documentation for IT processes and procedures, and provide regular reports on IT activities and progress.

  • Assist in updating and managing the organization’s social media platforms, ensuring timely and engaging content.
  • Assist in designing communication materials, such as fliers, magazines, and other promotional content.
  • Offer support in vediography and photography

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Studying towards a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or any related field.
  • Basic understanding of operating systems
  • Understanding of network infrastructure, protocols, and troubleshooting basics.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware components and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, C++, etc
  • Familiarity with database concepts
  • Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Ability to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Effective verbal and written communication to interact with team members and clients.
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to accurately complete tasks and maintain data integrity.
