JOB DETAILS: INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
REPORTS TO: SYSTEMS MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: IT

Job summary
Responsible for providing technological support to the office, help in areas of information processing, data security and communication.

Key responsibilities:

  1. System Monitoring
  • Actively participate in the optimum operation and stability of the OAG network system and server’s infrastructure.
  • Assess periodic system and data backup and follow-up on business continuity and disaster recovery for OAG IT assets.
  • Ensure the secure configuration of all IT related infrastructure and services activities within OAG IT infrastructure
  1. User Support System
  • Participate in the development of the user support system for all user complainants relating to computer aided audit tools, server and network resources and computer applications and hardware.
  • Participate in carrying out feasibility study, investigation analysis, write reports, design, operation, test and commission electronic equipment and systems.
  • Website design, development and maintenance.
  1. Schedule Maintenance
  • Participate in the maintenance of an up to date and systematic configuration of the network and server environment, well documented and secured and that all data center applications are patched, secured and documented.
  • Conduct maintenance systems through a routine End-of-day (EOD) an End-of-month (EOM) processing procedure.
  • Maintain server rooms in a tidy and ensure that devices and network points are properly identified with labels.
  1. ICT Training
  • Carry out staff training in networking software and hardware and any other IT related issues whenever appropriate.
  • Identify the specific skills OAG staff need to improve and the timeframe within which it would take to meet the training goals to provide optimal payback.
  1. Operation And Stability of Systems
  • Maintain the optimum operation and stability of the OAG network system and server’s infrastructure.
  • Perform and maintain the periodic system and data backup and follow-up on business continuity and disaster recovery for OAG IT assets.
  • Perform secure configuration of all IT related infrastructure and services activities within OAG IT infrastructure.
  • Support and be responsive to off-hours emergencies and activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer science or Information Technology or Information systems or related discipline from a recognized university or institution.
  • IT Certifications will be added advantage.
  • Oneyear experiencein an IT Systems role.
