Job Description
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruitment and selection of Academic Staff;
Processing Academic Staff appointments;
Preparing Academic Staff job advertisements to fill vacant posts;
Monitoring the issue of tenure and ensure that contracts of untenured Lecturers are terminated at the end of the first three (3) year contract;
Administering the Sabbatical and Contact leave record for Academic Staff;
Generating responses pertaining to Human Resources issues affecting Academic Staff;
Liaising with the Salaries Section pertaining to Academic Staff appointments;
Producing weekly, monthly and yearly Academic Staff statistics;
Supervising the Human Resources Assistant; and
Performing any other duties as assigned by the Manager, Human Resources.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Sociology or Psychology;
A Diploma in Human Resources Management/Personnel Management/Industrial Relations/Training Management from institutions such as the Institute of People Management of Zimbabwe (IPMZ) or Higher Examination Council (HEXCO) is a pre-requisite;
Experience in an institution of higher learning is a requirement;
Possession of a Master’s Degree in the above areas will be an added advantage; and
Two (2) years relevant post qualification experience in Human Resources Management.
