About
Zimbabwe Health Interventions (ZHI) is a not-for-profit human development organisation which is registered as a Private Voluntary Organisation (PVO 17/22). ZHI’s mission is to develop and deliver innovative and sustainable high-impact, integrated health interventions to the communities we serve, while working with and strengthening existing institutions.
The Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-free, Mentored, and Safe women (DREAMS)-Reignite Innovate Sustain and Empower (RISE) Program aims to prevent new HIV infections and reduce vulnerability among Orphaned and Vulnerable Children (OVC), OVC caregivers and Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) in Zimbabwe. The DREAMS-RISE program is being implemented in priority high HIV burden districts in Zimbabwe. ZHI’s primary role is to deliver a comprehensive curriculum on HIV prevention, gender norms and social asset building targeted at AGYW in school, out of school and their sexual partners at community level. ZHI’s core thrust in the DREAMS-RISE Program is to keep girls and young women HIV Free through supporting them to; Stay in school; Prevent early pregnancies; Prevent sexual violence; Access Post violence care; Reduce child marriage. DREAMS-RISE program provides a comprehensive, multi-sectoral package of core interventions to address key factors that make girls and young women particularly vulnerable to HIV. These include structural factors, such as gender-based violence, exclusion from economic opportunities, and a lack of access to secondary school. DREAMS-RISE program layers multiple interventions at once so that AGYW are surrounded with critical support to keep them safe from HIV and other risks.
Basic Function
The Human Resources Clerk supports all ZHI projects and provides critical administrative, technical or program support to Human Resources (HR) Team in functional areas including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compensation, HRIS, and training. Responsible for the execution of HR administrative processes and support for the Human Resources team. Interacts extensively with multi-site employees and managers and the broader Human Resources organization. Answers questions for customers/clients using knowledge of principles and practices of human resources and company procedures.
Job Description
Support the recruitment and selection of employees by shortlisting, conducting interviews, creating of interview; files and conducting reference checks; Assists with conducting initial new hire orientation and ensuring all relevant documents are included on orientation package for all employees; Receiving and processing the casual employment request, ensuring that all authorization has been received; Assisting with tracking performance and probation goals; Timely verification of documents for personnel files, timely filing of the documents, benefits, and immigration record keeping; Prepare and submit payments for Medical Aid Subscriptions; Assist in compiling HR reports such as weekly and monthly reports, leave reports and other reports as and when needed; Ensure the timely processing of casual staff salaries, through properly capturing all monthly payroll changes on the payroll system; Follow-up on approvals for all HR documents; Provides administrative support to HR team including ordering office supplies and stationery; Serves as initial point of contact for employees with questions related to their personal employee information; Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Work independently with minimum supervision showing initiative to manage high volume workflow; Perform detail-oriented work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail; Must exhibit high levels of professionalism, integrity and ethical values at all times; Ability to maintain confidentiality for sensitive Human Resources issues or projects and use judgment to execute duties and responsibilities; Record keeping, report preparation, filing methods and records management techniques; Objectivity and the ability to apply HR rules and regulations in a fair and consistent manner; Ability to plan and prioritize own work under tight deadlines, as well as to work on own initiative and as a member of a team.
Qualifications And Experience
Degree in Human Resources, Social Science or related Field; At least 1 year post qualification experience; Knowledge of payroll packages e.g Belina is a distinct advantage; Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is required; Experience of HR in a non-governmental organisation is an added advantage.
