Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) is an autonomous parastatal under the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education. It is an internationally accredited examinations board. ZIMSEC is an examinations board responsible for assessment, evaluation and documentation of the academic readiness, learning progress, and skill acquisition of students at primary and secondary school levels in Zimbabwe. The Council is inviting suitably qualified and motivated persons for the above-mentioned vacant position that has risen.
Reporting to Human Resources Officer, the purpose of the job is to provide administrative support to all Human Resources functions.
DUTIES
Draft job adverts.
Schedule interviews.
Maintain employee records (e.g. vacation and sick leaves).
Do preliminary screening of resumes and job applications.
Update internal databases with new hires’ data.
Perform secretarial duties in interviews and disciplinary hearings.
Keep routine, policy and staff files in confidential manner.
Participate in staff training and development activities.
Assist in payroll administration
Weigh letters and put appropriate postage fees.
Collect registered articles and parcels from the post office for processing and distribution.
Record all registered articles on remittance sheets.
Scan letters using a copy scan for easy retrieval and safe keeping of records.
Archiving and retrieving of records from National Archives of Zimbabwe.
Make requests for franking machine units and stamps from the post office.
Sort out incoming mail and distribute to their respective sections.
REQUIREMENTS
Have 5 ‘O’ Levels and 2 ‘A’ Level passes.
IPMZ Diploma in Human Resources Management or equivalent
Knowledge of Records Management
2 years’ experience
Advanced excel
Good communication skills
Knowledge of records management system or any human resource system.
A team player.
Ability to work with little or no supervision
