Job Description: Head of Operations

Company Overview: As a reputable company specializing in university student placement from Zimbabwe to universities in Europe and the Americas. We are committed to providing exceptional service and support to students as they embark on their educational journeys abroad. We are currently seeking a Head of Operations to join our dynamic team.

Position Overview: As the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for managing a direct team and reporting to senior managers. Your role will be crucial in coordinating and overseeing various operational aspects of our student placement services. This includes team management, finance management, sales, HR support, IT support, and people and stakeholder management. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our business.

Responsibilities:

  1. Team Management:
  • Lead and manage a team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure individual and team success.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture, promoting productivity, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and implement performance improvement plans when necessary.
  1. Finance Management:
  • Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and expense management.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to ensure accurate record-keeping, financial compliance, and timely financial reporting.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize financial resources.
  1. Sales:
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and implement strategic initiatives to drive student enrollment and revenue growth.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and student preferences to identify potential opportunities for business expansion.
  • Ensure effective communication between the operations and sales teams to align business objectives and achieve targets.
  1. HR Support:
  • Provide support to the HR department in recruitment, onboarding, and talent management processes.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Address employee concerns, conflicts, and disciplinary issues in a fair and timely manner.
  1. IT Support:
  • Collaborate with the IT team to ensure seamless functioning of systems, software, and hardware.
  • Identify and implement IT solutions to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Train team members on IT tools and systems to optimize their performance.
  1. People and Stakeholder Management:
  • Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders, including universities, educational consultants, and other relevant partners.
  • Act as a point of contact for key stakeholders, addressing their concerns, and ensuring their satisfaction.
  • Represent the company in external meetings, conferences, and events to promote Sable International’s services and brand.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in operations management, preferably in the education ; service industry or student placement industry. Ideally within a fast-growing environment, and experience leading global teams of SDRs/BDMs/ADRs/OBRs (Must Have)
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Leading by example, ensuring everyone is adhering to the business core values
  • Has experience with CRM products and business models.
  • Has strong communication skills (both oral & written) with great presentation skills to core and reporting the
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to changing conditions at a fast-paced, growing company
  • Ability to learn quickly and you are always searching for ways to expand your knowledge
  • Excellent financial acumen, with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
  • Demonstrated experience in sales and achieving business targets.
  • Sound knowledge of HR practices and principles.
  • Proficiency in IT systems and tools, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
