JOB SUMMARY:
Mutapa Investment Fund which is the sovereign wealth fund of Zimbabwe is seeking highly experienced and qualified professionals to fill five (5) Head Analyst positions in the following core industry clusters: Natural Resources, Energy & Trading, Infrastructure, Industrials, and Financial Services & Real Estate. The successful candidates will be responsible for leading the analysis and investment decisions for their respective clusters. It is essential that Investment Analysts in any cluster have a strong background in their respective field. For instance, in the Natural Resources cluster, we are seeking a Head Analyst with a proven track record in mining, commodities, and extractive industries.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Head Analyst will provide expert analysis and research support to inform investment decisions and drive portfolio company activities and growth. This is a demanding role and involves working closely with the Investments Team and the portfolio companies to:
⦁ Evaluate investment opportunities and allocate capital effectively.
⦁ Monitor and assess portfolio company performance.
⦁ Provide data-driven recommendations based on market trends and analysis.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITY.
The key responsibilities of the Head Analyst are to:
⦁ Lead a team of Investment Analysts in delivering high-quality analysis and insights.
⦁ Prepare comprehensive investment reports and presentations for C-level executives at MIF and portfolio companies.
⦁ Conduct in-depth financial analysis and modeling to evaluate investment opportunities and develop turnaround strategies.
⦁ Research and analyse industry trends, market conditions, and portfolio company performance to inform investment decisions
⦁ Monitor and assess portfolio performance, providing recommendations for optimization and growth
⦁ Conduct due diligence activities and evaluate potential investments to ensure alignment with MIF’s investment strategy
⦁ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyse data for investment decisions
⦁ Take ownership of self-learning and development, staying up-to-date with technical and non-technical skills to drive innovation and excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
⦁ A Master’s Degree in Finance, Actuarial Science/Mathematics, Economics, or a relevant degree in the sector related field.
⦁ Relevant professional certifications such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst, minimum level Il)/Chartered Accountant/ CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) / Associate Level with recognised global actuarial institute preferred.
⦁ At least five years of experience in investment analysis or a related field, with a proven track record of working under pressure, strong attention to detail, commercial awareness and delivering high-quality results
⦁ Advanced quantitative and qualitative analytical and financial modelling skills, valuation techniques and in-depth knowledge of relevant industry cluster.
⦁ Leadership and management skills to lead and manage an investment analyst team, with excellent communication, interpersonal, and delegation skills
⦁ Strategic thinking and the ability to make informed investment decisions that align with the Mutapa Investment Fund’s overall goal of value and wealth creation.
⦁ The ability to integrate rapidly into our diverse team and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
⦁ Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
