Reports to Packing Workshop Chargehand
Purpose of Role
Responsible for instrumentation maintenance of all packing machines and equipment to ensure that equipment is performing in the required standards and levels
Key Responsibilities
Wires and commissions packing machines where necessary
Installs electrical and instrumentation cables in the department
Fault-finds and maintains pneumatic equipment and air gape in the department
Maintains, repairs and clean all platform scales
Completes overhauling of sewing machines both union special and Feshbein
Services and uses test weights for recalibrating scales
Replaces worn out parts/spares on all machines
Adjust and set up data sensors in line with company requirements
Programs speed of vibrators where necessary
Adjust all new loadcells setting them to achieve the required standard for the Digi way and also calibrates all Digi way weighers
Fault finds all machines’ Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and reprogram them with the assistance of the Workshop Chargehand
Carries out maintenance of BETA-PACK machines
Ensures availability of critical spares in consultation with the packing Workshop Chargehand
Adheres to all Safety, Health, Environment, and Food Safety programs and standards applicable to his/her area or responsibilty
Qualification and Experience
5 O Levels including Maths, Science, and English language
Trade tested with Class 4 or better qualification
4 years experience in the manufacturing industry dealing with Instrumentation equipment
