Graduate Trainee Finance

We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Graduate Trainee to join our General Insurance Finance team. The Job:
The training will specifically focus on all aspects of the Finance department with a specialization in technical accounting. The training program will run for 24 months
The trainee is expected to be ready to be deployed into a substantive position should ane be available at the end of the 24 months and should be able to demonstrate in depth knowledge of the different areas covered during the period.
The Person:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- A minimum of one year of experience in the financial sector.
- Experience in the insurance sector will be a distinct advantage.
- Progress toward a professional qualification such as IIZ-COP, ACCA CIMA, ASA, FSA, or a similor certification will be an added advantage.
- A solid understanding of general accounting principles
- Proficiency in working with large datasets, with the ability to analyze financial records, interpret dota. and create financial models using tools such as Excel, Power Bl, or Tableau.
- Working knowledge of accounting software and tools leg. SSP Pure, SAP, Pastel, etc.).
- Knowledge of IFRS 17 and experience with Solvency frameworks is an added advantage
- Familiarity with data analysis tools or programming languages (eg. R. Python SQL, VBA) is preferred but not required.
- Honest, hardworking, and a strong team player High level of confidence and a proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt
