The Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development in collaboration with the Public Service Commission is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following vacancies that have arisen in the Department of the Surveyor General

STATION : Harare Office
REPORTS TO : Deputy Director, Small, Medium and Large-Scale Maps
DEPARTMENT : Surveyor General

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Producing aerial photographs and large-scale maps.
2. Identifying and raising procurement requests for the needed resources like
hardware, software and materials.
3. Checking and correcting aerial photographs.
4. Checking the generation of contours.
5. Checking and controlling the quality and quantity of photographs produced.
6. Carrying out photogrammetry field visits.
7. Organising the examination of maps.
8. Compiling and submitting weekly photogrammetry reports to the Deputy
Director, Small, Medium and Large-Scale Maps.
9. Allocating duties to subordinates and appraising their performance.
10. Performing other relevant duties as assigned by the Deputy Director, Small,
Medium and Large-Scale Maps.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

The desired candidate should;
 Hold a degree in Cartography, Geographical Information Systems or
equivalent.
 Experience in performing photogrammetry duties will be an added advantage.
 Be highly analytical and accurate.
 Have good oral and written communication skills.
 Be computer literate and able to use photogrammetry software.
