A local faith-based organization involved in development, advocacy and humanitarian work seeks to fill the following vacant position(s)

Gender and Protection Officer x 1 (Gutu district)
Purpose of the position
To ensure that gender and protection interventions of the program are effectively integrated during
planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of programs.

Responsibilities:
 Work together with the Livelihood and Disaster Risk Reduction Project Officers, to ensure that
gender and protection issues are effectively mainstreamed throughout the whole project cycle of
the program.
 Organize and lead in gender related assessments and surveys of the program
 Conducts on-going coaching, mentoring and training of staff on gender and protection
issues.
 Organize and lead the implementation of gender and protection activities of the program
such as trainings, gender role models, competitions, campaigns and commemorations
 Support tracking and reporting on gender indicators of the program
 Compile and submit project reports to the supervisor as required
 Collect Stories of Change on gender and protection issues
 Engage with community leaders and project participants in rolling out project activities
 Participate in stakeholder coordination activities on gender and protection
 Participate in program development on gender and protection thematic pillars
 Conduct other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Desired Qualifications, technical skills and experience
 Degree in Gender Studies and Women Development
 Masters in Gender Studies is an added advantage
 At least 3 years’ traceable experience in Gender and Protection Programming
 Knowledge on PSEA and Gender Policies
 Committed to the humanitarian principles

Remuneration
Remuneration and other benefits will be disclosed and negotiated with selected candidates.
Start Date: Successful applicant is expected to start with immediate effect.
