Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the vacant position that has risen in the Faculty of Social and Gender Transformative Sciences at the Women’s University in Africa, Harare Campus:
Full-time Lecturer in Communication Skills x 1 Post
Reports to the Chairperson, Communication and Languages Centre

Responsibilities/Key Tasks

  • Teaching Communication Skills to undergraduate students and communication courses to
    postgraduate students in accordance with Faculty guidelines and standards; 2. Coordinating academic activities for students that develop their problem-solving skills;
  • Inculcating creative and critical thinking capabilities in students in line with Education 5.0;
  • Research;
  • Community Service; and
  • Performing any other assigned duties.

Desired Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • A PhD Degree in English/ Communication/ Applied Linguistics or equivalent is an added advantage;
  • Master of Arts in English/ Communication/ Applied Linguistics, or equivalent;
  • Bachelor of Arts in English/ Communication/Applied Linguistics or equivalent;
  • A teaching qualification would be added advantage; and
  • At least two (2) years relevant teaching experience at tertiary level.

Desired Attributes

  • A strong command of English Language;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Ability to motivate and guide students; and
  • Effective organisational and planning skills.
