FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT

A leading Manufacturing company based in Harare is seeking a Qualified Accountant with an in-depth understanding of financial reporting and the relevant international reporting standards to join our team and support the financial success of our operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all financial operations, ensuring compliance with Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) requirements, and providing crucial financial insights that drive strategic decision-making. Candidates with prior experience working with green packs and SAP will have an added advantage.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
Reporting To: Finance Manager
Supervision Of: Assistant Accountants
Interacts With: Statutory Service Providers / Colleagues
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Oversee and manage full accounting operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and submit tax returns in strict compliance with Zimbabwean tax laws and ZIMRA regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records while adhering to statutory compliance and accounting standards.
- Provide timely and detailed financial reports, including analysis and actionable recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Liaise directly with ZIMRA regarding audits, inquiries, and compliance matters.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and advise management on their potential implications.
- Supervise all aspects of payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes.
- Establish and implement robust accounting systems, processes, and internal controls.
- Accurately track revenue streams and expenditures to ensure financial transparency.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement cost-effective financial strategies.
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION
Experience: 5 years+
Education Level: Degree or Masters in Accounting or Finance
Qualifications: Chartered Accountant (CA) / ACCA/ CIMA, or a comparable certification.
Software: SAP / Excel
Equipment: Laptop
Knowledge Of: IFRSs and financial reporting.
Skills To: Communicate and present complex matters and liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.
Ability To: Work independently and manage tight deadlines effectively.
