Finance and Administration Director

Our client, Petrotrade Private Limited, is a State-Owned Enterprise whose mandate is to dominate the energy and petroleum industry through the efficient importation and distribution of petroleum and related energy products.

We are looking for a highly qualified and competent candidate for the strategic and extremely exciting position of Finance and Administration Director. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the position exists to provide strategic leadership, operational efficiency and direction across all financial, operational and administrative functions of the Company. This includes financial planning, advisory, reporting, budgeting, treasury management, investments, asset management, compliance, and administrative and support services.

Key Job Functions:

• To provide regular, sound and accurate financial advice and information and analyses to the Board, CEO and Management
• Formulate, lead and oversee financial management plans, policies and strategies in line with the Company’s business plan and ensuring that the organization’s financial and strategic goals are attained.
• Oversee capital allocation matters, investment strategies, capital raising activities to optimize the Company’s financial structure to support business growth.
• Develop, recommend and implement innovative ways to increase revenue and manage costs, ensure smooth cash-flows and increase profitability.
• Formulate budget framework for the Company in accordance with company strategy
• Ensure that all accounting and reporting is accurate and is in compliance with corporate governance, legislation, policies, procedures and generally acceptable accounting standards.
• Ensure full utilization of the company’s ERP systems.
• Establish adequate financial controls, which ensure the credibility of financial information of the Company and prevent financial losses.
• Formulate measures to mitigate financial and operational risks on an ongoing basis.
• Ensure the smooth operation of the company’s administrative processes and that assets are utilised efficiently to maximize return on investment.
• Coordinate all reporting period-end processes, External Auditors, shareholder and support the Board Audit and Finance Committees.
• Build a culture of performance, accountability and continuous improvement within the finance department.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting and a relevant Master’s Degree.
• Must be a Chartered Accountant/ACCA/CIMA/CFA qualified professional.
• At least 10 years progressive and demonstrable experience in managing both finance and administration operations of which 5 years should be at a Senior Management level.
• Must be a strategic thinker who can develop and refine business strategies for successful implementation.
• Must be tech savvy and familiar with ERP systems and data analytics tools
• A team player who can interact confidently with all levels.
• Must have a clean record and be able to demonstrate capacity for maintaining high professional and moral standards.
