The Field Assistant will assist with Project field-level activity implementation by working directly with the Project team, local partners and community members, coordinating various field activities and events in support of USAID Resilience ANCHORS Activity. His/her service and community relations skills ensure that communities feed into and benefit from the Activity that consistently applies best practices and continuously works towards improving its impact. This position will be based in Activity districts of Chiredzi, Chipinge and Bikita, and will report directly to the Program Coordinator.
DUTIES
Support the coordination and monitoring of project activities at the field level, ensuring implementation schedules are met as per the detailed activity plan, and that adherence to systems for quality project implementation are strengthened.
Coordinate communication and facilitate information sharing among the project team, implementing partners, and project beneficiaries at the community level to assist local partners in strengthening the community interest, involvement and support networks.
Liaise with various community stakeholders and mobilize them to ensure full involvement of community leaders, community representatives, and local government representatives in the overall implementation and improvement of project activities.
In coordination with the project team support capacity building events for community representatives.
Coordinate, monitor, and report on volunteer activities.
Compile data provided at the community level as per project requirements and contribute to the preparation of reports
Support the Activity to recruit, select and train beneficiaries on all aspects of GAP
Support farmers on all aspects of crop production, extension, including soil analysis, correction, land preparation and the rest of market-driven pre and post-harvest processes
Train farmers in accordance with the agreed KPIs.
REQUIREMENTS
Certificate and/or Diploma in Natural Resources Management, Agriculture and Community Development, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree is considered advantageous.
Minimum of two years community development, extension services or work experience in a government, NGO, or UN agency on issues relevant to the position.
Ability to work independently within a team in multicultural settings often in physically demanding conditions.
Ability to communicate effectively & network, demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Ability to fulfill mandatory ECODIT operations and financial procedures
