Feasibility Study for Youth in Climate Change: Building Resilience to Climate Induced shocks and stressors in Manicaland Province, Zimbabwe project.

Plan International Zimbabwe is seeking bids from consultants to conduct a feasibility study for the project titled Youth in Climate Change: Building Resilience to Climate-Induced Shocks and Stressors in Manicaland Province, Zimbabwe. This study will encompass contextual, problem, stakeholder, and risk analyses, evaluating the capacity of proposed partners to implement the project effectively. It will also examine the staffing logic and plan, assessing the project’s feasibility within the target communities and available resources.
The study aims to identify gaps in the project design and provide recommendations to enhance sustainable sexual and reproductive health outcomes for adolescents and young people, particularly in the context of food insecurity and economic challenges intensified by El Niño-induced drought and climate change. Additionally, it will evaluate the feasibility of achieving the project’s goals based on planned resources while building on existing community strengths. Ultimately, this preliminary exploration will assess the project’s merits and viability, highlighting potential risks associated with the proposed intervention.
The objectives of the study are to:
- Review and adapt existing problem and situational analyses
- Review and adapt existing stakeholder analyses
- Review and adapt a partner capacity assessment and provide recommendations for improvement
- Review and adapt existing risk analyses and identify relevant mitigation measures
- Review the project’s intervention logic (incl. logical frame and activities) and provide recommendations for improvement
- Review the project’s staffing concept and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Assess the feasibility of the project design against the OECD-DAC criteria, relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, coherence, sustainability and impact, and provide recommendations
Priority will be given to those with experience working with NGOs, public sector initiatives, and knowledge of humanitarian response, children’s rights, young women, and youth issues in Zimbabwe. The ideal candidate holds a post-graduate degree in Social Sciences or a related field, with at least 10 years of verifiable experience in qualitative research for international NGOs.
