Faculty E-Learning Support Graduate Trainees (4 Posts)
Applications are invited from suitably qualified recent graduates who are passionate about building a career in either ‘e-Learning’ or ‘educational technology’, or both, to undergo an intensive eighteen (18) months structured e-Learning graduate traineeship programme at Bindura University of Science Education at the Centre for Educational Technologies Innovation and Design (CETID).
At the end of the programme, successful candidates may be considered for permanent positions within CETID, based on performance, demonstrated competencies, and organizational needs.
Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Be recent graduates with an Upper Second (2.1) Degree Class or better in Computer Science Education, Educational/Instructional Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field;
- Have a minimum of five (5) GCSE/GCE Ordinary Level passes, including English, Mathematics and Science (Grade C or better);
- Be 25 years of age or below at the time of application.
Areas of Learning Include:
Under the mentorship of the University Learning Technologist, trainees will assists in the implementation and coordination of eLearning initiatives across all University campuses. Responsibilities will include support in online course design and management, training, LMS administration, content development, and helpdesk operations. Trainees will also be expected to contribute to innovation and continuous improvement of educational technologies.
- Shadowing staff, attending training sessions, meetings, and workshops;
- Maintaining a reflective log and documenting learning experiences;
- Compiling reports and delivering presentations to staff;
- Analysing current systems and proposing improvements;
- Conducting research and supporting Learning Technologist/Director as needed;
- Providing day-to-day support, pre-semester setup, and training for LMS and other educational technologies;
- Troubleshooting and escalating technical issues as needed;
- Responding to user requests and resolving issues related to educational technologies;
- Assisting in the development of e-Learning content using tools such as Moodle, Google Applications, and Lecture Capture systems;
- Collaborating with Moodle administrators and faculty on course creation and setup;
- Creating user guides, FAQs, best practices, and troubleshooting manuals for faculty;
- Contributing positively to CETID culture and building professional relationships with staff and students;
- Participating in assessments or evaluations at the end of the programme.
Note: Assigned tasks may be reviewed and adjusted during the traineeship period to align with evolving programme needs and priorities.
