FACULTATIVE UNDERWRITER
The following vacancy has arisen within First Mutual Reinsurance (Zimbabwe) and applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill this vacancy.
The Job
Reporting to the Head underwriter, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following
Assessing and accepting facultative business offers from cedents
Preparing renewal drives on targeted accounts and cedents
Participating in risk management surveys for underwriting recommendations
Recording underwriting information in SICS
Ensuring placement of facultative offers above retention on the approved company treaty
Conducting records management of facultative documents
Planning methodologies for renewal and acquisition of business to meet the target for the assigned
Portfolios Planning business relations and communication strategies for the assigned portfolios
Formulating and executing marketing activities in line with the marketing strategy
Developing and maintaining effective business relationships with internal and external clients
Assisting credit control department on premium collection Executing client training in line with the approved programme
The Person
The ideal candidate must possess the following
Degree in Risk Management or Insurance
Professional Qualification a must ie ABZ, ACII, AISA
At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
Good knowledge of Facultative practices
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
