Job Summary
We are seeking a hard-working and reliable Electrician/ Welder to join our team in the Service
Centre Section. You will participate in a variety of projects following mechanical and electrical plans
and instructions from the site supervisor.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities as the Electrician/ Welder will include but are not limited to:
• Conducting regular maintenance on machinery, systems, and automotive vehicles;
• Assembling mechanical components according to specifications;
• Maintaining work logs, repairs, and maintenance records;
• Monitoring inventory and order new parts when necessary;
• Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures;
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements;
• Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered
saws to match measurements);
• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded;
• Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces;
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions
(vertical, horizontal or overhead);
• Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps;
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws;
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety;
• Installing, maintaining and repairing electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems;
• Reading technical diagrams and blueprints;
• Performing general electrical maintenance;
• Inspecting transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components;
• Troubleshooting electrical issues using appropriate testing devices;
• Repairing and replace equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures;
• Advising on continued use of suitable equipment: appliances, and apparatus;
• Circuit breaker corrective maintenance.
Qualifications, experience and Competences
• Possession of a Diploma, Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Welding and Power Electrical
Engineering.
• A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role.
• Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving.
• Excellent communication, safety awareness and customer service skills.
