Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team at our dairy farm. The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical systems maintenance, installation, and repair, specifically within agricultural settings. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our electrical systems that support dairy operations, including milking equipment, cooling systems, lighting, and other essential machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, and equipment in compliance with local codes and safety regulations.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose electrical issues and provide effective solutions to ensure minimal downtime of dairy farm operations.
  • Equipment Support: Collaborate with farm management to maintain and optimize electrical systems that power milking machines, refrigeration units, feed systems, and other key equipment.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all electrical work adheres to safety standards and regulations; conduct regular inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards.
  • Emergency Response: Respond quickly to electrical emergencies, assessing and resolving issues promptly to maintain operational continuity.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections performed; maintain inventory of electrical supplies and equipment.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside other maintenance staff, farmers, and external contractors to coordinate electrical projects and ensure seamless integration with farm operations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an electrician, preferably in an agricultural or industrial setting.
  • Valid electrician’s license and/or certification as required by local regulations.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and components, including wiring, circuits, and control systems.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and practices related to electrical work.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and management.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
