The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) is an Independent Electoral Management Body established in terms of Section 238 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe. Its major function is to manage and conduct elections to the offices of the President, Parliament, Local Authorities, Referendums, and all related electoral processes in accordance with the laws of Zimbabwe and international best practices.
The Commission wishes to recruit professionals of high integrity with good communication and decision-making skills, and sound knowledge of electoral democracy to fill vacancies that have arisen in the institution. JOB TITLE: Election Logistics Officer
REPORTS TO: Deputy Provincial Elections Officer
STATION: Harare Metropolitan Province, Manicaland Province, Mashonaland Central Province, Mashonaland East Province, Mashonaland West Province, Masvingo Province, Matabeleland, North Province, Matabeleland South Province, Midlands Province
GRADE : 8/7
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Preparing provincial annual election logistics budget;
Maintaining inventory of election equipment and materials;
Recommending safe storage of assets;
Monitoring use of equipment by staff and recommending best practice;
Distributing election material according to requirements;
Implementing and reporting on special logistics operations;
Carrying out equipment and materials routine checks and reporting irregularities and faults;
Recommending disposal of obsolete election equipment and materials;
Participating in the election residue disposal exercise;
Maintaining warehousing procedures as per accounting standards;
Establishing and implementing internal control systems;
Coordinating logistics operations with other organizations;
Supervising personnel on secondment during electoral activities;
Compiling reports on logistics movement;
Supervising and coordinating reverse logistics;
Any other related duties as directed by superiors.
Qualifications/ Job Specifications
A minimum of an HND/ Degree in Logistics, Statistics or Purchasing and Supply;
At least 2 years ‘experience in a similar field;
Ability to work under minimum supervision and under pressure
