Zimbabwe AIDS Preventing Project Trust (ZAPPT) is implementing sustainable development initiatives to improve health, safety, education, and stability outcomes for OVC, adolescents and youth affected and infected by HIV in Zimbabwe. ZAPPT is inviting a suitably qualified person to fill the position of Economic Strengthening Officer for an Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) Project in Chivi & Gutu Districts.
ECONOMIC STRENGTHENING OFFICER
Reporting to: Project Officer
The Economic Strengthening Officer will assist in the implementation of all Economic Strengthening
activities to offer high-impact, scalable, and sustainable interventions. The Officer will be working
with Stakeholders and project participants under the SPACE for OVC program. The incumbent will monitor
and support ISAL Groups to thrive and will ensure timely documentation and reporting of program activities,
overall planning and implementation under the stable domain.
KEY SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Mentor, supervise and provide technical support to project participants in the implementation of livelihood’s activities including (IGAs) such as nutrition gardens, poultry project.
Develop, coordinate and administer work plan for the implementation of livelihood activities
To compile weekly, monthly and quarterly programmatic reports
To conduct case management to children and caregivers enrolled in the project
Guide implementation of livelihoods (ISAL, SILC) and monitoring activities according to project objectives and targets.
Facilitate market linkages between beneficiary households and viable markets
Facilitate identification and enrolment of out of school project participants youth into Vocational and Technical skills training
Facilitate, track and monitor ISAL/ SILC groups through My savings Companion (MSC) online platform
Working closely with relevant government ministries and other technical support to community based facilitators with focus on implementing economic strengthening interventions
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Natural Resource Management, Social Sciences, Development Studies or a closely related field;
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in household economic strengthening programming.
Demonstrated experience in community mobilization, organization, management and mediation among local actors and partner capacity building;
Demonstrated experience in training design, delivery and mentoring in subject matter relevant to this position;
Ability to work independently, think innovatively and strategically, work under pressure and meet deadlines
Strong technical and programmatic skills and experience across a range of economic empowerment for communities.
In-depth understanding of donor expectations for program results, outcomes, impact, and reporting
Knowledge of PEPFAR/ USAID funded OVC program
