The Salvation Army-Howard Mission Hospital is a registered faith based organization providing clinical and social services to marginalized communities in Mashonaland Central of Zimbabwe. The organization is committed to improve the wellbeing of people through quality health care, child protection and household economic empowerment. A dedicated team of experts with a mix of unique talent help the organization in addressing the community’s connected challenges. Through its USAID/Perpfar funded OVC programme, the organization is currently seeking services of the following key personnel to ensure programme deliverables are met in Mazowe District:

DUTIES
Coordinate and facilitate economic strengthening activities
Responsible for Training, monitoring and mentoring for ES groups
Directly work with community-based facilitators to deliver a core package of economic strengthening interventions for OVC and their caregivers and youth living with HIV.
Support and collaborate with the Ministry of Women Affairs Community Small and Medium Enterprises Development (MWACSMED), Ministry of Youth and local businesses, private sector and other key district stakeholders.
Conduct adolescents-led/youth-led labour market assessments (LMA) and participatory trade choices for skills development, value chain analysis that identifies constraints, capabilities and potential for expanding labour opportunities for youth and OVC caregivers within their local market systems (villages, wards and districts).
Coordinate and roll out work-focused Social Asset Building training, which equips youth especially AGYW with information and skills to identify, avoid and/or report GBV in the workplace, mostly sexual harassment.

Linking small youth owned enterprises with more established private enterprises/ businesses, Government and/or technical support institutions for business development support, mentorship and meeting the start-up costs and standards.
Organize or support youth to participate and showcase their products in marketing events that include district agricultural shows, local exhibitions and leverage on social media to reach broader and more lucrative markets.
Production of periodic reports and programme success stories as required.
Ensure any violations or non-compliance to Howard Hospital Child protection and safeguarding policy are reported to the Safeguarding Focal Person.

REQUIREMENTS
Degree in agriculture, social sciences or any related field. A related Master’s degree is an added advantage
At least Four years of experience designing, implementing, and monitoring household economic strengthening and youth economic empowerment activities in the context of PEPFAR USAID OVC programming
Demonstrated experience linking youth and caregivers to employment and entrepreneurship opportunities
Experience in leveraging private sector partnerships and resources for creation of business opportunities, business mentorship and skills training, and market access, strategies
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders including Government representatives, local community organizations funders, and other stakeholders.
Demonstrated success in providing training, mentorship and supervision of community volunteers and caregivers.
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
Must be willing and able to ride a motorbike
