About the Organization: PHOEBE Zimbabwe focuses on the lives of women and girls due to the gendered inequalities present in society which result in disadvantages for females. We recognize that women and girls do not live single-issue lives – therefore it offers a holistic, integrated model of care which seeks to support women and girls across a range of issues. The organisation is connected to many schools in the Harare, holding in-school workshops about mental health and other issues, as well as putting on sporting and drama activities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an engaging plan for the organisation, including acting and playwriting in line with the organisation’s objectives.
- Instruct participants on the fundamentals of theatre techniques, improvisation, voice projection, and stage presence.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and respect for others.
- Organize and direct theatre productions, including selecting plays, casting roles, coordinating rehearsals, and managing technical aspects such as lighting, sound, and set design.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to participants on their performances and projects.
- Stay current with trends and developments in theatre and incorporate new methodologies and technologies into the organisation’s project as appropriate
Qualifications:
- Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts, Drama, Performing Arts, or a related field
