ROLES OF ZNOART VOLUNTARY AREA & DISTRICT COORDINATORS

NB* for these positions one should prove beyond reasonable doubt that he or she has expertise in the chosen portfolio and a community leader who is non political.

Area Coordinators are ward or suburb based.
These are community leaders who are willing to volunteer and lead other residents in their areas who and should be development oriented.

Znoart District & Area Coordinator Roles in Summary

These are volunteers who are champions of community development in their areas and communities.
Chief among their roles is the recruitment of as many residents as possible in their areas while creating a membership database for Znoart

As ZNOART modus operandi is bottom to top approach, area coordinators are expected to know precisely what residents are facing especially where service delivery is concerned. We believe that total service delivery, which is and not limited to potable water, electricity , refuse collection , affordable rates, social assets and infrastructure, devolution among others these should be accessed by all residents as it is their constitutional right.
Area Coordinators should make sure that ZNOART works with local service providers within their areas.

The area coordinator is to relay information observed and acquired from the ground where residents are, to the District Coodinator and to the provincial leadership so that appropriate action is taken to compel the local authorities or relevant institution to act.

Area Coordinators play a crucial role in various organizations, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, and private companies. Their responsibilities can vary depending on the specific context, but here are some common roles of Area Coordinators:

1. Liaison and Communication: Serve as a point of contact between the organization and local stakeholders, communities, or partners.
2. Program Implementation: Oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of programs or projects within their designated area.
3. Community Engagement: Build relationships with local leaders, organizations, and residents to promote the organization’s goals and objectives.
4. Needs Assessment: Identify local needs and priorities to inform program development and resource allocation.
5. Resource Management: Coordinate the allocation of resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment.
6. Reporting and Monitoring: Collect and analyze data to track progress, identify challenges, and report to senior management.
7. Capacity Building: Provide training and support to local partners, staff, and volunteers to enhance their skills and capacity.
8. Conflict Resolution: Address conflicts or issues that arise within the area, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
9. Networking: Establish partnerships with local organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to leverage resources and expertise.
10. Representation: Represent the organization at local events, meetings, and forums to promote its mission and interests.
